We are delighted to announce our Connecting Communities seminar hosted by Reading Rooms from Verbal and My Home Life.

The full title of the seminar is:

Connecting care homes to their communities: Helping residents connect with places, people, and passions.

It will support care homes to develop their knowledge of person-centered care and will strengthen connections with their communities.

Location and booking

The seminar will be delivered first in Derry/Londonderry, and again in Belfast. Please choose one date and location. The seminar is free, but booking is essential.

What will this event do for me?

We will launch the My Home Life initiative ‘Care Home Friends and Neighbours’ (Care Home FaNs) in Northern Ireland.

Care Home FaNs will make it easier for you to open your care home doors and develop relationships with your local communities that will help your residents feel that they belong.

We will also introduce you to the creative work of the Reading Rooms pilot project, Bring down the walls, a literature intervention delivered by volunteers.

Verbal will demonstrate how Reading Rooms has helped to develop shared decision-making in care homes and enhanced community engagement.
