Listen Share Change Volunteer Coordinator (Southern), Holly Conlon, attended the Big Lunch event in Belfast on Saturday 8th June with our Every Story Matters project bus. Big Lunch is a UK-wide project supporting over 1,000 community-led projects for people to come together in the streets where they live.

We were invited to promote our project on the day by Northern Ireland Muslim Family Association as they celebrated ‘The Big Lunch’ to mark Eid ul-Fitr, a tradition in the Islamic calendar marking the end of Ramadan and its month of fast.

Holly delivered Reading Rooms taster sessions with residents and families from Donegal Pass Community Forum, Belvoir Community Hub and Rugby Road residents. Holly said, “it was great to meet people from different communities coming together to share food and share stories.”

The groups will be invited to take part in our next cohort of Listen Share Change later this year.
