We are thrilled to announce our upcoming Poetry Workshops, taking place on Wed, 16th August 2023, and Wed, 23rd August 2023. These workshops are entirely free and offer a unique chance to respond to local and national archival material from the Irish War of Independence & Civil War.

Our workshops aim to provide a space where participants can discover new ways of expressing themselves through poetry. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with original letters, documents, and photos from the revolutionary period and be inspired by them. You will learn new writing techniques, explore the context of the materials, and have the chance to create your own pieces of poetry.

After the workshops, you will be invited to submit your work to a special Poetry as Commemoration archive, which will be housed in the prestigious UCD Special Collections. This archive will become a legacy for Irish history, and you can be a part of it!

Even if you don't have any family connection to the revolutionary period, you are still welcome to join. However, if you do have any family stories or materials relating to the War of Independence & Civil War, we encourage you to share them with us.

Please note that each ticket will give you access to both workshops, and we kindly request that you attend both sessions.

Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to explore Irish history and develop your poetry skills.
