We have had a busy week in our Reading Rooms programme for older people.

My Home Life

Jennifer Lindfield from My Home Life paid us a visit. This is a project we have worked closely with over the last few years.

My Home Life works to create a world where care homes for older people are great places to live, to die, to visit, and to work.

This vision is very close to the heart of what our Reading Rooms programme for older people is all about.

Bring down the walls

Our project, Bring down the walls, funded by The Henry Smith Charity, brings the Reading Rooms model into residential care home settings.

We arranged two visits for Jennifer to see for herself the work we are doing and the pleasure that shared reading brings to residents, family, friends, and staff.

We welcomed Jennifer to Owen Mor and Seven Oaks during our Reading Rooms sessions.

Jennifer was greatly impressed with the variety and depth of the conversations generated in the Reading Rooms.

For the facilitators, she was a very hands-on guest, helping out with distributing materials and engaging with residents.

We hope to see you again soon Jennifer.
