Verbal is dedicated to utilising the profound medium of storytelling to support individuals within the criminal justice system of Northern Ireland. Our specialized programmes offer a synthesis of talking therapy and structured storytelling.
Our Demographic:
We extend our services to both incarcerated individuals and those reintegrating into society under license, recognizing the unique challenges each group faces.
Collaborative Partnerships:
Our initiatives are strengthened through highly valued and productive collaborations with the Northern Ireland Prison Service and the Probation Board of Northern Ireland. These partnerships ensure our interventions are both impactful and contextually relevant.
Methodology:
Storytelling, in our model, serves as a conduit for facilitating purposeful dialogues. We engage with individuals, particularly those at significant transitional junctures, aiding their preparation for reintegration into communities or providing support for those already in the process.
The Intersection of Storytelling and Psychology:
By integrating principles of psychology with storytelling, we aim to fortify participants' coping mechanisms. Our focus encompasses pivotal areas such as fostering relationships, navigating new beginnings, regulating impulsive tendencies, addressing apprehensions of failure, and enhancing communication skills.
The Impact:Our projects don't just end with a story. Participants leave feeling empowered, ready to play a constructive role in their communities and families and equipped with tools to lead a life away from re-offending.
WE INVITE STAKEHOLDERS AND INTERESTED PARTIES TO EXPLORE THE TRANSFORMATIVE POTENTIAL OF OUR STORYTELLING APPROACH WITHIN THE REALM OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND MENTAL HEALTH.
